Score Your Own Positioning Before a Buyer Does
This is not a stats sheet. It is a self-scoring worksheet across four angles — market, buyers, competitors and trends. Write your honest current answer to each prompt, mark each angle Unverified, Partly evidenced or Verified, and find your weakest point in one sitting, before a board member, a buyer or a competitor does.
Already working on a deck or an asset? Try the Claim-Verification Checklist or the Claims Self-Audit instead — this one is for your underlying positioning, not a specific document.

What Sends a Narrative From "Confident" to "Unverified"
Three Questions the Probe Forces You to Answer
Each comes straight from the worksheet. It is not a verification — it is the map of what a verification would actually check.
"Where does that market number actually come from?"
Name the report, publisher or registry and the date. In the probe, Verified means you can name the source, the date it was current and the method behind the claim. If you cannot do all three, it is not verified yet, however confident it feels.
"Who exactly is the buyer — not 'everyone who could use this'?"
The probe asks you to name the role, the company size and the trigger that makes them look for help — then the evidence that this buyer exists and behaves as you assume: won and lost deals, sales-call notes, search demand, usage data.
"What does an AI assistant say when you ask what your company does?"
The probe has you ask ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini or Claude in a fresh, logged-out chat, then ask how you compare with your top named competitor. Note anything wrong, stale or missing — an old offer, outdated pricing, or no answer at all.
The probe walks through all four angles, then a synthesis section to draft your one-sentence positioning statement and a scorecard for your four self-scores.

Self-scoring Is Where the Go-to-Market Build Starts
The probe tells you where your own narrative likely falls short. A Go-to-Market Build turns tested positioning into a 5-page website or landing page, a 20-slide sales deck and a 3-email sequence, built on named, dated evidence and signed off by a named verifier within 10 days.
